Understanding Your Quote: Customization Factors

Every home is unique. While our base theory remains the same, these site-specific factors help us tailor the perfect solution for you.

Materials & Build Class We select the right conductor for your load requirements—from Aluminum (#2 or 4/0) for standard efficiency to Copper (#4 or 2/0) for maximum conductivity. We also match your home’s aesthetic with the correct conduit type, whether that’s standard PVC, rigid EMT, or flexible SER cable.

Structural Integration We treat your home with respect. The siding type (Vinyl, Stucco, Brick, or Stone) dictates how we anchor the new service.

  • Solid masonry (brick/stone) or fragile surfaces (stucco/slate) may require specialized mounting solutions like strut rack systems to ensure a secure, damage-free install.

Site Access & Excavation (Underground Service) For underground feeds, we assess the distance from the meter to the house and the terrain density.

  • Trenching: Machine vs. Hand Digging based on yard access.

  • Restoration: Cutting/patching concrete or pavement if ground rods cannot be placed in soil.

Code Compliance & Safety
We don’t cut corners. Our quote includes bringing your system up to current city/state codes.

  • Grounding: Updating grounding/bonding system and separating neutrals from grounds to eliminate objectionable current.

  • Permits: Handling all required city and utility paperwork.

  • Clearance: Ensuring overhead lines clear roofs/walkways and installing risers if necessary.

Electrical Load Calculation

The Blueprint for Your Home’s Capacity

Before you add heavy appliances, you need to know if your panel can handle the weight. A Load Calculation creates the official roadmap for your home’s power.

Service Snapshot

  • Service Type: Diagnostics & Planning
  • Turnaround: 24-48 Hours
  • Investment: $279.00 (Credited toward your upgrade if you hire us)

What Is It & Why It Matters

A load calculation is a physics check for your electrical system. It confirms exactly what your property is using now—and what it can safely handle in the future.

  • Safety First: Avoids nuisance tripping, flickering lights, and overheating wires.
  • Smart Spending: Determines if you actually need a heavy-up (service upgrade) or if your current panel has hidden capacity.
  • Code Compliance: Many cities require this document for rental permits or major renovation inspections.

Common Triggers

We recommend a Load Calculation before installing any of the following:

  • EV Chargers (Level 2)
  • HVAC Upgrades (Heat Pumps, Mini-Splits, Electric Heat)
  • Major Appliances (Hot Tubs, Electric Ranges, Tankless Water Heaters)

Expansions (Finished Basements, ADUs, Home Additions)

Electrical Panel Upgrades

Modernize Your Home’s Safety Center

Old fuse boxes and outdated breakers weren’t built for today’s electronics. We replace them with modern, code-compliant systems that protect your family and your devices.

What Can Affect the Final Price of a Panel Replacement

Our panel replacement pricing is starting at and may increase depending on the home and job conditions, including:

Permits, Inspections & Utility Coordination

  • Permit and inspection requirements (city / state / county)

  • Scheduling and coordination with the electrical utility for disconnect/reconnect

  • Required inspection corrections or utility requirements

Number of Circuits & Panel Complexity

  • Total number of circuits to remove and reinstall

  • High circuit count panels (example: 30+ circuits)

  • Panel labeling needs (unknown or unmarked circuits)

Access & Work Area Conditions

  • Tight working space or code clearance issues (panel location does not meet working space requirements)

  • Finished basements, crawlspaces, closets, or difficult access areas

  • Obstructions near the panel (shelves, plumbing, ductwork, etc.)

  • Additional time for setup, protection, and cleanup in finished spaces

Existing Wiring Condition

  • Brittle, damaged, or overheated conductors

  • Older cloth wiring, aluminum branch wiring, or mixed wiring types

  • Short conductors that require extensions/splices to reach the new panel

  • Previous non-code work that must be corrected for safety

Grounding & Bonding Updates

  • Missing or undersized grounding electrode conductor (GEC)

  • Ground rod installation or replacement

  • Bonding of metal water piping (if present and required)

  • Bonding of gas piping (when required)

  • Loose, missing, or incorrect grounding/bonding in the existing panel

Breaker Requirements & Code Updates

Workshop, Shop & Agricultural Building Electrical – Typical Ranges Electrical work for workshops and farms is priced differently than basic storage. These spaces are designed for work and heavy loads. Below are general ranges to set expectations.

      Light Workshop / Hobby Shop

      • Typical Range: $4,999 – $9,999

      • Examples: Woodworking tools, air compressors, additional lighting zones, or subpanels with room for growth.

      Mechanic Shop / Serious Workshop

      • Typical Range: $10,000 – $20,000

      • Examples: Vehicle repair bays, high-output lighting, lifts, welders, heaters, and large subpanels.

      Agricultural Buildings / Production-Style Shops

      • Typical Range: $15,000 – $30,000+

      • Examples: Farm operations, heavy equipment storage, high-bay lighting, and significant power distribution.

Why Shop Pricing Varies So Much Unlike a standard room, shop pricing is driven by:

      • Building Size: Number of bays and ceiling height.

      • Usage: Equipment loads (welders vs. table saws).

      • Distance: Feeder length from the main house/utility.

      • Code: Local requirements for agricultural vs. residential use.

Basic garages and serious shops are very different projects. Our goal is to design a system that fits your actual usage—safely and with room to grow. We will review your specific needs and provide a clear, fixed price before work begins.
